Below is a list of common email errors that one might receive when there is something wrong when sending an email and a bounce back email message is received.

Common codes that the sender might see and check themselves.

| 5.0.0 | Email address does not exist | a user has been removed from receiving server and should be removed from distribution group(s)group and delete contact . *** If group is on server please request with email admin to remove from group and delete contact ***Â |
| 5.1.1 | Bad destination mailbox address | check your spelling of email address and resend |
| 5.1.2 | Bad destination system address | check your spelling of email address and resend |
| 5.1.3 | Bad destination mailbox address syntax | check your spelling of email address and resend |
| 5.1.4 | Destination mailbox address ambiguous | check your spelling of email address and resend |
| 5.5.2 | Syntax error | check your spelling of email address and resend |
| 5.2.3 | Message length exceeds administrative limit. | email size is above set by receiving mail servers admin, reduce size of message |
| 5.3.4 | Message too big for system | email size is above set by receiving mail servers admin, reduce size of message check your attachment size, most email server except 10mb to 15mb attachments only even though you might be able to up to 25mb |
| 5.2.1 | Mailbox disabled, not accepting messages | mailbox exist but disabled confirm with recipient if still valid recipient might have been terminated. |
