How To Configure Outlook 2003 using POP3


This article explains how to Configure Outlook 2003 with one of our pop3 email accounts. This process should take only minutes.

First click on start and then open up the control panel. Find the Mail icon and double click it. (You may need to switch from category view to list or small icon view)



Once the window titled Mail Setuphas appeared click on the button labeled Email Accounts.



This will start the Email Accounts wizard. Select Add a New Email Account and click next



At the next screen select POP3, and click Next


Fill in the blanks:

-Fill in User Information
-The Incoming Mail Server is pop3.domain.com. (replace domain.com with everything following the @ symbol in your email address. i.g. HanSolo@MFalcon.biz => pop3.MFalcon.biz)
-The Outgoing Mail Server is smtp.domain.com. ( i.g. smtp.MFalcon.biz)
- For User Name use your full email address. (the email address you entered previously under E-mail Address.)
-Password is your password

Then click More Settings



Here then click the Outgoing server tab, here check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication and make sure the Use Same Settings as my Incoming Mail Server radio button is selected then click advanced



Change the port numbers of the SMTP server from 25 to 587, and click ok



This will bring you back to the Email information screen. Now click next



And congratulations you have successfully configured Outlook to use POP3
